Who would have thought that a cheap mattress would not last forever? Well a lot of people seem to think that they will. Your bed will get old and most mattresses are not designed to stay efficient and effective past 8 years. They feature metal wires coiled up into springs which will loose their strength over time and eventually break as well as a quilted fabric cover that will eventually rip and tear.

Metal fatigue!

The springs in a mattress whether they are coupled or separately spaced, are made of metal wire that will eventually fail sue to over use and fatigue. When they do start to fail they will no longer be able to give you the proper support and will then begin to break in use.

We sweat every night.

Sweating at night time is a regular occurrence even if you never realize it. The bed absorbs this sweat and as it does it can attract mites and other parasites. A regular cleaning and sanitizing of the mattress will add years to its life.

Canvas and fabric does not last forever.

Within time, the canvas that covers the mattress will eventually rip. Some mattresses will use better fabric which will last longer then others, but when it does rip it is time to replace it.

Foam fails as well.

Memory foam is great and can help us get a better night’s rest, but it will not last forever. Sure the material itself will last a long time, but after many expansions and contractions, it will no longer be able to support you.

Failure of the bed!

Your bed will eventually start falling apart if it has not already. You will spend more then a third of your life in bed or more depending on how comfortable your sleeps are, but when the bed begins to fail, you too will see the effects in your daily life as your nights become less comfortable.

Beds are never given their dues. You spend more then a third of your life in one, yet you will go out and buy a fancy car and still complain when it is time to get a new mattress. Having a good sleep every night will give you more energy which equates to a more productive day at work and thus allows you to get an even better car. It is all relative to making sure you get a full night’s rest every night.
